Diamonds in the Rough Children's Village and Clinic
Sierra Leone has been an exciting outreach for the Mordecai and Esther Foundation. I have loved my 6 trips to this little north west African nation. From my prayers for Ebola victims in 2014, God has led me to help the orphans of this predominantly Muslim nation. Although there are many Christians in Sierra Leone, it is heavily overrun with the errant teachings of "Word of Faith" Charismatic so called faith healers and people claiming Apostolic powers. Due to the poor educational system of the common people, people seeking spiritual help are often drawn into believing these "faith healing" false prophets.
A recent goal of mine is to start a church and bring good sound teaching to these people. My outreach to orphans in the eastern part of Sierra Leone has been a blessing but there is much to do even in the capital of Freetown. When I fly into Sierra Leone, I am based with my good friends Yohai and Mattu Nadav. I had a donated Jeep Wrangler shipped to Freetown and this is my main form of transportation.
Praise God for churches like “Centereach Bible Church" of Long Island New York and the generosity of pastor Scott Kraniac who sacrificially donated a very nice fitting 4X4 Wrangler (photos below). It is perfect for the arduou trips to the bush and isolated places where we have several groups of orphans.
I praise God for the faithful prayer support of many Christians and without your generous financial support, we could never do what we do. To date, we have 48 orphan children who are sitting under sound bible teaching and godly workers who keep in touch with us. I work closely with ”Hands On Africa" Andre Delpot who has put a find orphanage compound together out east. We are in close fellowship both doctrinally and we share a heart for orphans across Africa. Please keep Andre and I in your daily prayers. We have much responsibility in caring for so many children. We envision these young children someday being powerful witnesses for Jesus Christ as adults and continuing a lasting legacy.
I have been working on apprenticeship programs for the older orphans to help train them in skills. I plan on doing carpentry, agricultural projects with greenhouses and other things like sewing and homebody type skills. It is not enough to just teach them the bible, they must learn to live it in a work a day world. Amen? Yes, Amen!
In the not too distant future I want to work on a clinic near or on the property of the orphanage. There is great need for even the simplest of medical facilities. This will take major capital so I am trusting in God for some new and innovative ways to raise money. My heart is always and only with the orphans. As my motto so states.
"Orphans First, Orphans Free". All this is to the glory of Jesus Christ. We can only take what we have done for Christ with us, so let's spend and be spent for His service. He cares for us and in all actuality, we live quite blessed lives. Oh we have our share of persecution in places like Africa but then again, everywhere in the world now is a needy field and faces Satanic opposition.
Please do your part to pray for us and if God leads you to give to this wonderful exciting ministry, may you be blessed greatly in your giving.
