Greetings with great concerns by dear Christian friends,
I just finished visiting with Pan Hai Bo (14 year old orphan boy), Pan Shu Ren (13 year old orphan boy) and Lu Ya Ming (11 year old orphan boy) and they were very excited about seeing Uncle Ray. I visited them at their orphanage with grandma Guo. We met with the guard and had the boys come to the entrance of the orphanage. Because it was a Saturday, the teachers and director were not there. It was a good "ice breaker" to establishing a contact at this important orphanage. I reminded the boys that it is critical in these next few months to be careful not to fight, wrestle and play rough house. I reminded them of the danger of doing things to cause harm to themselves, in this being only 4 months after some of the most difficult heart surgeries. I told them they are very blessed to receive such a life saving procedure and that they need to thank God for His grace. I prayed with them and I was very impressed that Pan Hai Bo has both John 3:16 and John 14:6 memorized in Chinese. I encouraged the other boys to do the same.
Continue to pray for these boys as I am not sure in what capacity I can reach out to help them. I know they always want to see me and they call often. We talk on the phone almost every other day and I remind them to be careful to let their bodies heal properly and to be careful to remember how dangerous it still is with their heart healing. They do look great and they sure do smile a lot with me. Praise God, it is so neat to see them have a new lease on life. This is what it is all about. All about the children, all about the orphans and most importantly, all about Jesus Christ being magnified. Amen?!!! I will set up a time to meet with their teacher and also the director of the orphanage. Pray about that contact and relationship.
Enclosed is a great picture of the 3 teenage boys. Praise God they now can live a normal life and hopefully I can do more for them throughout their lives. I am also invited to go and visit "Mean Show", the little orphan girl we all invested 7,000 dollars to save. It will take a few difficult road trips to get to where she is. Pray about that trip and my safety over the next few weeks.
