Greetings dear Christian friends,
I begin with the joy of telling all of you that Jiang Jia Yi can finally see. She is focusing and looking around and it is such a joy to my heart to see her seeing clearly. This is a huge change from last week. The parents have a hard time seeing progress as they are with her all the time. I was able to do many tests to see if she could really see. My favorite was taking a good picture of her and then she wanted to see her own pictures. She focused clearly on the small camera and smiled. She can go "in and out" with her sight but this is a big improvement. Keep praying. She has to pick up more muscle mass and get her strength up to be able to stand and begin to walk again. Let us praise God for Jiang Jia Yi's sight being restored. This reminds me of the "two stage" miracle of the blind man in Mark 8:22-26
"And they *came to Bethsaida. And they *brought a blind man to Jesus and *implored Him to touch him. 23 Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around.” 25 Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. 26 And He sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”
Thank You Jesus for Your healing power! We almost lost this girl a few times and it has been a hard arduous road to recover but it has been a blessing to remain faithful to help her and her parents. Our efforts, prayers and support have clearly prevailed. Now on to the 10 Christian children being held and need our prayers and help.
I talked with grandma and Maggie and said we need to continue to encourage the two helpful leaders to keep pushing the others to do what is right. We don't need any "Tobiah, Sanballat or Gershom's thwarting our efforts. (Nehemiah 2:19) and we are also getting tired of "Haman" types accusing us with false vicious words. This is why I entitled this update from Psalm 13.
"How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?" Psalm 13:1,2
I leave on July 2nd for the US and I really want to see the kids, comfort them and encourage them about the progress we have made. It is amazing how the "system" has no real concern for comforting and encouraging the kids even though approvals have been made to allow me to have contact with them. The excuse is always, "They need to be moved to an orphanage first." The last leader who talked with Maggie made is sound like he knows nothing about anything important. Please pray for God to move the helpful leaders to keep the process moving and that God would remove the obstacles slowing the process down. There are so many bible stories about such issues but we all know God worked it all out in His time. I just beg the Lord as David did in Psalm 13, "How long, O Lord?" "
"
Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; Psalm 13:3a
I don't know if there are people trying to "defeat" me now but I look to the last two verses in the Psalm.
"But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; The word for lovingkindness is HESED, covenant love
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation."
"I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me." Ps 13:5,6 Please pray that God will deal bountifully with me and the kids.
Looking to Jesus to deliver the kids, bless us as a family and that we would praise Him through it all!
